Craving a freshly baked cinnamon bun without the guilt? Try this cinnamon bun smoothie it tastes just as good without the extra calories. The banana and oats make up the bun, for the “filling” we used dark chocolate and some almonds.

Besides the distinct smell and flavor cinnamon is loaded with antioxidants, anti-inflammatory properties and lowers blood sugar levels. Dark chocolate with a high cocoa content (70-85%) can be very nutritious but should be consumed in moderation.

You can add some maple syrup to taste.

Ingredients:

  • 1 Frozen Banana
  • 1/4 C Oats
  • 1/2 C Low Fat Milk (or non-dairy)
  • 1/2 C Plain Yoghurt
  • 1/2 Tsp Cinnamon
  • 1 Tsp Dark Chocolate
  • 1 Tbsp Almonds
  • Optional:
  • 1 Tsp Maple Syrup
  • Directions:

    Add all the ingredients to your OmniBlend jug, blend from low to high for 30 to 60 seconds for a smooth texture.
