chocolate-shake-recipe

This one is for the chocolate lovers! This is a light chocolate shake to cool down, and satisfy those chocolate cravings, as we are all for guilt free treats J.

Not all chocolate recipes are unhealthy. In fact cocoa powder, which comes from cocoa beans, contains flavonoids which is a potent antioxidant. We used dark chocolate because it is a good source of flavonoids and it’s low in sugar (opt for the 85%), and the essential fatty acids in chocolate may lower blood pressure and cholesterol.

Ingredients:

  • 1 1/2 C Milk (or non-dairy)
  • 1/2 C Plain Yoghurt (unsweetened)
  • 1 Frozen Banana
  • 2 Tsp Cocoa powder
  • 1 Tbsp. 85% Dark Chocolate
  • 1/2 Tsp Cinnamon
  •

    Directions:

Add all ingredients to your OmniBlend jug, and blend from low to high speed, for 30 to 60 seconds, until smooth and creamy. Add some honey for extra sweetness if desired.

Serve with grated chocolate on top.
